As a major type of porcelain for export in China, Guangzhou's color
porcelain was once prosperous in the Qing Dynasty (1611--1911) and the
1980s. In recent years, however, Guangzhou's color porcelain industry is
facing dilemmas due to a variety of reasons. In order salvage Guangzhou's
color porcelain, many departments in Guangzhou jointly sponsored
Guangzhou color porcelain exhibition in Guangzhou's Art Museum on Sept.
30th. This exhibition featured color porcelain masterpieces of various
times, many of which were purchased from foreign countries.
