Paris fashion: Dior's gothic chic

A model presents a creation by John Galliano for Christian Dior during
the Autumn/Winter 2006-07 ready-to-wear collections in Paris, 28 February
2006.
PARIS - A slender silhouette of straight skirts with jackets belted by
oversized square buckles set the tone for Christian Dior's ready-to-wear,
presented inside the late 19th century Grand Palais.
The 'gothic chic' of John Galliano told quite a different story at
Dior.The British designer sent out models wearing black headbands over
their long, ironed-straight hair, eyes hidden behind dark glasses, or
with a large crucifix hanging around the neck.
He used lots of bold red and black, pairing his skirts in printed suede
or black leather with knee-high boots, while also calling upon mink, goat
fur trim and beige sheepskin. And he added the occasional print of black
flowers.
