Scene of cormorants catching fish resurfaced

www.chinanews.cn 2005-11-04 15:47:09

Cormorants are a kind of waterfowl used by fishermen in Jiangxi
Province's water towns to catch fish in the past but now one can rarely
see the scene of cormorants catching fish. In late autumn, on Luxi River
in Yingtan City's Longhu (Dragon and Tiger) Mountain, the cradle of
Chinese Taoism, the scene of cormorants catching fish resurfaced: a small
boat or a bamboo raft flows amidst drizzle, a fisherman wearing a large
bamboo hat and a palm-bark rain cape stands on the boat, with a fish
basket beside him, in the front of the boat stand a few cormorants.
