(China Daily)
Updated: 2007-07-20 13:57

A woman surnamed Xiong has refused to turn on her air conditioner for
more than a month despite the hot summer days in Wuhan, capital of Hubei
Province.

Xiong does not want to disturb two turtledoves nesting in her air
conditioner.

Xiong feeds the birds, which have laid several eggs, with corn and rice
every day.

Xiong said her family will not use the air conditioner until the eggs
hatch.
